New Staff

We would like to introduce Mrs. Ahmed. She will be helping in the office and doing some work for our teachers. She will work in the mornings Monday through Friday. Mrs. Ahmed is a long-time family friend of Mrs. Redmond and we are very happy to have her help us. Please introduce yourself to her.

PArent/Teacher Conferences

The CMS staff would like to thank the parents for a great conference day. There is a lot to cover and we appreciate your efforts to keep on schedule. If you were unable to join us please talk to your teacher to schedule a make-up meeting.

PICK-UP

When picking up your child, please remember to exit quickly and not to linger outside the playground area or the parking lot. This is for the safety of the students. Thank you for your cooperation with this matter.

PARENT DIRECTORY

During the month of October we collected permission slips with the information you would like published in the school directory. If you have not had a chance to turn your slip in, please do so. Please note that the personal information shared with the school and other parents is only provided for contacting other families, and not solicitation of any sort.

EMAILS

If you have not been receiving email reminders from the school, please give the office staff your email address. We send out friendly reminders and notes concerning the school.

Tuition & Receipts

CMS is no longer giving receipts for tuition payments. This is one way we can cut down on our paper use. Please hold on to your cancelled checks. The office staff is available to complete "flex spending forms".

Tuition is due the 1st of each month. There will be a late fee added to your tuition, if payment is received after the 5th of each month. Let us know if you need an alternative tuition due date.

LUNCHES

CMS offers hot lunches for students.Both vegetarian and non-vegetarian lunches are available. For more information, please see Mrs. Redmond.

Parent Group EMail

Periodically Community Montessori School sends out emails to parents regarding inclement weather, reminders and school happenings. If you would like to receive these updates, pleas leave a note in the mailbox in the front office. Just write your name and the email address where you want reminders sent.

DISCOVERY TOYS

One of our parents, Angela Jacobs, is our sales representative for Discovery Toys. If anyone is interested in some holiday gifts or you would like a catalog please call Angela at 703-346-4739.

TOYS FOR TOTS

Each year CMS collects toys for the Marine Corps toy drive. A box will be placed in the hallway for your donations. Last year, CMS collected a huge amount of toys. Let’s do the same this season!

PUPPET SHOW

On Wednesday, December 7 the FFX County Fire Department will be at CMS to present “Matches Are Tools”. Our students will enjoy watching the puppet show and seeing the fire trucks, (if possible).

REMINDERS

Please remember to label everything brought to school. This includes bedding, outerwear, shoes, backpacks, lunch boxes.

Sippy cups are not allowed unless they have your child’s name and the date. You may put them in your child’s lunch box if you do not want to label.
